Legal Authority: How I made contact, found this person and why they are a good choice.

How I made contact, and found my lawyer wasn’t very easy at all. As soon as I was given this I had already looked up lawyers. From there emails and numbers so I could have a good list of ones to call and or email on the topics I wanted to talk with them about. I even ended up sending an email to Erin Brockvich hoping that maybe she or someone that she worked with could get back to me in time with anything at all. After the list of lawyers I got from looking them up in class ended with not getting a word from them I really felt like just giving up, some of my other class mates were already giving up as well. So I ended up talking to my grandmother for help. Shes not no lawyer or anything but shes pretty good with getting things like this done, even after two weeks of looking and calling in the yellow pages for lawyers nothing. When I couldn’t work on the finding the lawyers she helped by making calls but, we would be on hold and get nothing. Or they would say they would call back and we would get no call backs, we also would leave messages for them. We got a hold of one place that said they didn’t have the lawyer I was looking for but that we could come in and just talk and see if they could help. When we gave up we called them back so we could go, and a man named Michael Joe told us to give Robert Reid a call. Luck be hold the Saturday before my final we got someone to talk with about my questions. I can’t that he was a good choice, but in the end of things he was the best.

WEEK 10 EOC: Erin Brockovich VS Robert Kearn's

Today in class we watch a movie on about Robert Kearns the man who came up with the idea of putting a timer with the windshield wiper. But I’m not here to talk to you about how he came up and made the idea. I’m here to compare the dark sad feel of the road Robert Kearns and the happy go lucky one of Erin Brockvich.
I saw in the retelling of Erin Brockvich story “an unknown legal researcher” (http://www.brockovich.com/mystory.html) that made it big. By helping a family that was being poised the water they had on their land. She showed a lighter side of law in a way that was not shown in Roberts Kearns movie. The things I saw from her is that lawyers may want money but they’ll fight for you even if they can’t win. She stayed by the family’s side and would not stop fighting for their rights and heath, even if it was a long fight with little.
On the other hand for Robert Kearns, he showed the darker side of what the law could do to you. With having a dream be pulled from below you, and giving to the world under someone else’s name. As was said before he worked in making the two items we all use when it rains, to help us see and drive. The law in his path way a lot sadder then Erin’s and showed me how thing can be with big corps. I feel for Robert Kearns for in the end all I really would want too is to have the world know I made something. He lost so much in his fight to make the world know from his wife to his time with his kids.
As they say there is two sides to every coin and the can be said with the law as well.

WEEK 10 BOC: Lawyer Jokes

A doctor and a lawyer were attending a cocktail party when the doctor was approached by a man who asked advice on how to handle his ulcer. http://www.lawyer-jokes.us/

When lawyers die, why don’t vultures eat them?

Even a vulture has taste. http://www.lawyer-jokes.us/

A golfer hooked his tee shot over a hill and onto the next fairway. Walking toward his ball, he saw a man lying on the ground, groaning with pain.

"I'm an attorney," the wincing man said, "and this is going to cost you $5000."

"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry," the concerned golfer replied. "But I did yell 'fore'."

"I'll take it," the attorney said.
